collingwood, thornbury and owen sound

Collingwood and Thornbury are situated along the Georgian Bay coast and link with Meaford along Highway 26. Collingwood is the largest of the towns and has no shortage of fine dining, shops and parks. Thornbury is like a sister town to Meaford. It also has a quaint main strip with cafes, shops and galleries along with a beautiful harbour. Owen Sound is located further west of Meaford. The old downtown has many cafes and shops and presents a great display of turn of the century architecture. The area of Owen Sound also has access to numerous trails and local museums. Meaford

The home of Applewood House Bed & Breakfast, Meaford is situated at the end of the Georgian Trail connecting Collingwood to Meaford and spanning just over 30 km. A perfect trail for biking, hiking or snowshoeing. Meaford has quaint small town charm with shops and restaurants lining its main street. Nearby parks include Beautiful Joe and Memorial Park and the town’s harbour has a beautiful boardwalk reaching out into the bay- perfect for evening strolls. Waterfalls

The Grey County is home to an impressive amount of waterfalls that range in height. The waterfalls are all relatively close to one another and within a 30 km radius of Applewood House.
